Israeli Finance Minister Smotrich Calls for Conquest and Resettlement of Gaza

Israel's Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich said that Israel should conquer the entire Gaza Strip, impose military rule, and resettle the area with Jews, rejecting other solutions.

Israel's Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich made a forceful statement on Gaza, advocating for full Israeli military control and Jewish resettlement. "I want Israel to conquer the entire Gaza Strip. I want us to establish Israeli military rule there. After that, we should resettle Gaza with Jews," he said, according to a post on X. "In my view, there is no other solution."

Smotrich, a far-right coalition member, has previously expressed similar hardline positions, but the direct call for conquest and resettlement marks a significant escalation in rhetoric as the conflict continues.
