The Russian government has added Moscow and the surrounding Moscow region to a blacklist of territories where cryptocurrency mining is not allowed. The ban will be in effect from August 15, 2026 to December 31, 2032.
Additionally, the restriction applies to eight municipal districts and the town of Lgov in Kursk Region. The move expands an existing list of regions with mining prohibitions, as authorities seek to manage energy consumption.
