Revolut Hires Ex-Chase UK Boss Kuba Fast to Lead Its European Bank

Revolut has appointed Kuba Fast, former CEO of Chase UK, to lead Revolut Bank UAB and serve as its CEO for Europe. The move comes as the fintech expands its banking operations after securing a UK licence.

Revolut has named Kuba Fast, the former chief executive of JPMorgan Chase's UK digital bank, as the new head of Revolut Bank UAB — the Lithuania-incorporated entity that holds the fintech's European banking licence. Fast will also take on the role of Revolut's CEO for Europe, replacing Joe Heneghan, who had held the post since 2021.

The appointment is expected to take effect around mid-2026, subject to approval from the European Central Bank and the Bank of Lithuania. Fast most recently led Chase UK and JPMorgan Europe Limited, having taken the top job at the British digital operation in May 2024 after seven years at the American lender.

Revolut Bank UAB, based in Lithuania, is the linchpin of the company's continental strategy. It operates across 30 markets in the European Economic Area and holds a full banking licence granted by the ECB in 2021. The entity has roughly 700,000 customers in Lithuania alone and has drawn regulatory scrutiny in the past, with European watchdogs curbing some of its riskier product launches.

Fast brings a background that spans central and eastern Europe. Prior to JPMorgan, he spent nearly three years at Polish digital lender mBank and six years at McKinsey & Company. Commenting on his move, Fast said Revolut still has "massive potential across customer growth, product expansion and relationship deepening," adding that it is "the first institution to achieve the holy grail of every digital banking effort I was part of: it truly masters cross-border banking at scale."

The hire comes at a pivotal moment for Revolut. The fintech secured its long-awaited UK banking licence earlier in 2026 and has been rolling out new products, including mortgages in Lithuania and wealth management tools, as it transitions from a payments app to a full-service bank. Revolut is Europe's most valuable private tech firm, and founder Nik Storonsky has indicated an initial public offering is roughly two years away, likely in the US rather than London.

For Heneghan, the departure closes a chapter that saw Revolut Bank UAB navigate its licensing and early growth phase. For Fast, the challenge is to sustain expansion across Europe while managing regulatory oversight — a familiar balancing act for an executive who spent recent years building a rival digital bank from scratch. His brief is expected to lean heavily on eastern Europe, a region where Revolut is pushing towards its goal of 100 markets and 100 million customers.
