Retail Investors Pile Back Into GLD Gold ETF With Biggest Inflows Since March
The SPDR Gold Shares ETF saw retail inflows surge, with a $50 million daily total that was the largest since March, putting the fund on track for its first positive month since February.
The largest US physically backed gold ETF, GLD, recorded a $50 million retail inflow on Wednesday, marking its biggest single-day addition since March and doubling the next largest daily figure since early April.
Overall fund flows were even stronger: GLD attracted $637 million on Wednesday, the highest since June 18. This was followed by $77 million on Thursday and $431 million on Friday.
August-to-date inflows have reached $1.4 billion, positioning the ETF for its first month of net additions since February. The data signals renewed retail appetite for gold.
