Red Sea Shipping Stable Despite Houthi Blockade Warning

Shipping traffic through the Bab al-Mandeb Strait remains at normal levels, with 34 vessels passing on Sunday, despite the Houthis’ threat to target Saudi- and Israeli-linked ships.

The Iran-backed Houthi group issued a warning last month of a blockade against vessels linked to Saudi Arabia and Israel. Despite the threat, commercial shipping in the Red Sea has stayed relatively stable, CNN reported.

Data from MarineTraffic showed that 34 ships transited the Bab al-Mandeb Strait on Sunday, highlighting the continued flow of maritime traffic. No major disruptions have materialized so far.
