Qatar LNG Loadings Hit Highest Since March Amid Hormuz Optimism

Loadings of liquefied natural gas from Qatar have risen to their highest point since March, with Ras Laffan averaging about 80,000 tons per day. The increase suggests the country is gearing up for a possible reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, a critical chokepoint for energy shipments.
Seven of Qatar's 14 LNG trains showed signs of activity, signaling a gradual return of production following wartime disruptions. Despite the uptick, current loading volumes remain roughly 60% below year-ago levels, indicating that a full recovery is not yet underway.
A broader rebound in exports depends on shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, where diplomatic negotiations are advancing. However, no agreement has been secured, and the outcome remains uncertain.
