Over 40% of US private-sector workers lack retirement plans, data shows
43% of private-sector workers aged 34–44 have no retirement plan, with similar figures for older age groups, highlighting a persistent retirement savings gap in the United States.
A notable share of U.S. private-sector workers are heading toward retirement without a workplace savings plan, according to recent data.
Among those aged 34–44, 43% reported having no retirement plan in place. The figure drops only slightly to 41% for the 45–54 age bracket, and even for workers aged 55–65, 40% remain uncovered.
This suggests millions of Americans may face retirement with limited financial support from employer-sponsored plans.
