NZD/USD Stuck in Range Below 0.5900 on Iran Risks, US CPI Awaits

The New Zealand dollar hovers just under 0.5900 against the US dollar as traders weigh Middle East tensions and brace for US inflation data.

NZDUSD

The NZD/USD pair oscillated between modest gains and minor losses during Tuesday’s Asian session, holding just below the 0.5900 handle. The kiwi has struggled to find direction, stuck in a familiar range.

Traders are weighing heightened geopolitical tensions surrounding Iran, which dampen risk appetite and cap the pair’s upside. At the same time, market participants are reluctant to push the dollar stronger ahead of the US consumer price index (CPI) release, a key input for Federal Reserve policy expectations.

The combination of these opposing forces keeps NZD/USD in a narrow consolidation pattern. A breakout likely requires a clear surprise from the inflation data or a significant escalation in Middle East tensions.
