NinjaTrader Group has launched CME Group Single Stock futures on its platform, giving eligible users direct access to futures contracts tied to major U.S. companies including Nvidia, Tesla, Apple and Amazon. The integration is positioned as one of the first significant retail rollouts of these newly introduced contracts.
CME Group is staging the launch across more than 50 constituents drawn from the S&P 500, Nasdaq 100 and Russell 1000 indices, broadening NinjaTrader's existing equity index futures offering. The contracts are centrally cleared and financially settled, and they trade nearly 24 hours during the trading week, allowing traders to react to earnings, geopolitical news and other market events outside standard U.S. market hours.
NinjaTrader Group CEO Martin Franchi said the move reflects a shift in retail trading behavior. He described retail traders as more active, informed and focused on high-conviction opportunities, and argued that Single Stock futures provide speed and capital efficiency without the complexity of options. He also said the product has the potential to dramatically expand and reshape investor participation in futures trading.
Tim McCourt, CME Group's global head of equities, FX and alternative products, said the partnership extends access to centrally cleared, financially settled contracts that bring near round-the-clock trading to major U.S. stocks.
Key product details
Unlike options, Single Stock futures do not require traders to manage time decay, Greeks or multi-leg strategies. They also carry no stock borrowing requirements for bearish positions, simplifying the process of shorting individual equities.
NinjaTrader said its cloud-based platform serves close to 3.9 million users, alongside clearing and technology divisions that support institutional and proprietary trading firms.
