Nexo Championship Returns to Aberdeenshire as Nexo Expands DP World Tour Footprint

Nexo, the digital assets wealth platform, has extended its title sponsorship of the Nexo Championship on the DP World Tour for a second consecutive year. The 2026 edition will take place at Trump International Golf Links in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, from August 20-23, with an increased prize fund of $3 million.

The tournament serves as the final event of the Closing Swing — the last leg of the first phase of the DP World Tour’s 2026 Race to Dubai. Nexo first became the tour’s Official Digital Wealth Platform in 2025 through 2027, then quickly added title rights for the event.

Last year’s inaugural Nexo Championship saw Scotland’s Grant Forrest win by four strokes, also collecting a $10,000 bonus from the newly introduced course record prize. The 2026 tournament will feature a celebrity pro-am on August 19, broadening its appeal beyond the professional field.

Nexo’s broader sports sponsorship portfolio includes partnerships with the Audi Revolut Formula 1 Team, the Australian Open, the ATP 500 Dallas Open, and the Argentine National Football Team ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The company describes its approach as focused on long-term, recurring exposure to premium, financially active audiences.

The DP World Tour’s Chief Tournament and Operations Officer, Ben Cowen, noted the return to a venue that has earned a reputation as a leading new links course. Eric F. Trump, on behalf of the host venue, praised the championship’s return and the quality of the Old and New courses at Trump International.
