Netanyahu Agrees to Curb Gaza Attacks for Demilitarization Plan, Axios Reports
Israel's Prime Minister told Trump envoy Jared Kushner he would give a 15-point demilitarization plan a chance, leading to a halt in Gaza strikes and an IDF pullback.
Last week, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke by phone with former Trump envoy Jared Kushner and agreed to explore a 15‑point demilitarization proposal despite his skepticism, according to Axios correspondent Barak Ravid.
As part of that commitment, Netanyahu pledged to curb military attacks on Gaza to allow the demilitarization process to begin. Since that conversation, Israel has not conducted strikes on Gaza, and the IDF is gradually withdrawing to the so‑called “yellow line.”
The U.S. and mediators are simultaneously pressing Hamas to start disarming. The developments signal a tentative de‑escalation in the conflict, though the full implementation of the plan remains uncertain.
