MultiBank Group Brings Its $MBG Token to Bitpanda

MultiBank Group’s utility token $MBG is now available on Bitpanda, marking its regulated entry into Europe. The token, backed by a $29 billion ecosystem, aims to bridge traditional finance with Web3 tokenization.

MultiBank Group, a major derivatives and FX broker, has listed its utility token $MBG on the European exchange Bitpanda, making it available to investors on May 12. The listing is the first time the token has been offered on a regulated European platform.

The token launched in mid-2025 and is designed to connect traditional finance — including CFDs, FX, and institutional trading — with Web3 themes such as real-world asset (RWA) tokenization. The company, which reports a balance sheet of US$607 million, two million clients, and US$35 billion in daily trading volume, sees the move as a natural step under Europe’s MiCA regulation.

“Over twenty years of operation, a US$607 million balance sheet, two million clients, and US$35 billion in daily trading volume. That is the profile MiCA was designed to reward,” said Zak Taher, CEO of MultiBank.io, the group’s crypto arm. A Bitpanda spokesperson added that Bitpanda serves “a strong entry point for digital asset projects looking to access European investors through a regulated platform with broad market reach.”

$MBG saw a strong initial rally, surging roughly sevenfold within a month of launch to an all-time high near US$2.70. However, the token later fell to around US$0.28 by late April. News of the Bitpanda listing, announced alongside a Ghana gold tokenization partnership, briefly reignited interest: the token rose 8.68%, daily trading volume climbed to US$7 million, and market cap reached US$83 million before cooling off again.

Despite the volatility, Taher emphasized that the token is less than a year old and only at the starting point. He pointed to positive fundamentals: $MBG is currently valued at around US$350 million, backed by a US$29 billion ecosystem, US$362 million in annual revenue, and 18 global licenses. The token also has physically backed gold reserves.

A central use case for $MBG is MultiBank’s RWA marketplace. The token launched with a US$3 billion real-estate tokenization agreement with MAG Lifestyle Development, offering fractional exposure to Dubai property. The pipeline also includes vaulted gold with redemption capability, tokenized equities, commodities such as Ghanaian gold, and a sports tokenization vertical built with former MMA champion Khabib Nurmagomedov. The company targets US$10 billion in tokenized assets.

Tokenized equities have become one of the fastest-growing RWA segments, with around US$800 million in market cap, according to Foresight Ventures. These assets can trade 24/7 and settle nearly instantly, appealing to a younger investor demographic.

Beyond investment, $MBG provides utility: holders receive tiered discounts on MultiBank’s spot, derivatives, and FX platforms, plus VIP features, airdrops, priority execution, and early token offerings. Taher noted that token holders show higher trading frequency, longer account retention, and greater cross-platform usage compared to non-holders. This retention mechanism mirrors practices used by crypto-native exchanges.

The listing on Bitpanda gives $MBG access to a broad European investor base and marks a strategic push into the region’s regulated digital asset market.
