MEXC's July 2026 Proof of Reserves Report Shows BTC Reserve Ratio Rising to 281%

MEXC's July 2026 Proof of Reserves report, audited by Hacken, shows its BTC reserve ratio rising to 281% from 269% in June, with all major asset reserves above 100%.

Digital asset exchange MEXC has released its July 2026 Proof of Reserves report, audited by blockchain security firm Hacken, showing that its bitcoin reserve ratio climbed to 281% from 269% in June. The report, dated July 15, is intended to demonstrate that user balances remain fully covered by the exchange's on-chain holdings.

According to the report, the BTC reserve ratio covers 4,439.51 BTC in user holdings. Other major assets also remain overcollateralized: USDT stands at 119% with a reserve covering 1,811,076,206.47 USDT, USDC at 115% covering 68,340,949.76 USDC, and ETH at 114% covering 62,416.70 ETH.

Verification and safeguards

MEXC's PoR system uses Merkle Tree cryptographic verification, letting users check that their individual balances are included in the platform's reserve total without exposing other users' data. Hacken conducts monthly audits to provide third-party assurance. The exchange says asset custody transparency is a key priority as users seek clearer information on how deposited funds are held, disclosed and safeguarded.

Beyond reserve reporting, MEXC maintains a Futures Insurance Fund to absorb losses from liquidations triggered by extreme market conditions and help avoid improper liquidation of user positions. The MEXC Guardian Fund, which holds reserves in both USDT and BTC, is designed to provide full compensation in the event of platform anomalies; MEXC says it plans to expand the fund from $100 million to $500 million over the next two years.

The exchange also uses a cold and hot wallet separation architecture, keeping most assets in internet-isolated cold wallets with multi-party authorization required for withdrawals. Additional measures include AI-driven risk monitoring, regular security audits, a bug bounty program and round-the-clock customer support. MEXC reports more than 40 million users across 170+ markets and access to over 3,000 digital assets on its platform.
