Marathon Digital (MARA) has pledged more than half its bitcoin holdings as collateral for $750 million in loans. The collateral includes 18,750 BTC, valued at approximately $1.2 billion.
The proceeds will be used, among other things, to purchase the Long Ridge gas-fired power plant in Ohio. The move aims to expand Marathon's energy infrastructure for bitcoin mining.
The company has not disclosed full loan terms, but the pledge represents a significant portion of its bitcoin treasury.
