Magnificent Seven Mentions on Wall Street Plunge 70% from Peak

Bloomberg terminal mentions of the 'Magnificent Seven' stocks have dropped to ~1,400 per month, a 70% decline from the Q1 2024 peak, signaling fading investor attention similar to previous fads like FANG.

Monthly news story mentions of the "Magnificent Seven" on the Bloomberg terminal have fallen to around 1,400, the lowest level since the fourth quarter of 2023. This marks a 70% decline from the peak of roughly 4,300 mentions recorded in early 2024, shortly after the term was introduced in 2023.

The pattern echoes past cycles with similar labels. Mentions of "FANG" and later "FAANG"—originally for Facebook, Amazon, Netflix, and Google, then adding Apple—surged to a record near 2,800 per month in Q4 2018 before plunging 82% to just around 500 by early 2020.

The data suggests investor and media attention has shifted away from the mega-cap tech cohort as the narrative loses momentum.
