Kraken goes live on Trever to bring full-service prime brokerage to European financial institutions

Kraken, the US-based cryptocurrency exchange, has made its prime brokerage service available on Trever, a digital asset operating system used by banks and brokers across Europe. The integration, announced today, allows institutional clients to access Kraken Prime's trading, custody, and settlement services directly from their existing Trever environment.

The move is aimed at streamlining institutional crypto operations. Banks and brokers using Trever can now route execution through Kraken Prime, settle trades into qualified custody, and record all transactions without juggling multiple counterparties or leaving their operational setup.

Kraken Prime offers institutional crypto trading across more than 20 global liquidity venues, covering over 90% of digital asset liquidity. The platform includes smart order routing and algorithmic execution for block trades.

Gurpreet Oberoi, Head of Kraken Institutional, said that Trever's clients include some of Europe's most established financial institutions that need infrastructure meeting the operational standards of their existing businesses. “By bringing Kraken Prime into their workflow, we’re giving them access to execution quality and qualified custody without the operational drag of stitching together multiple counterparties,” he added.

Hans-Juergen Griesbacher, CEO and Co-Founder of Trever, noted that banks and brokers want to operate digital assets at high institutional standards, MiCA-compliant, without assembling infrastructure piece by piece. “This is why we integrated Kraken Prime, one of the most trusted names in institutional crypto, to bring another trading and custody connection directly into Trever,” he said.

The integration is live and available to eligible Kraken Prime and Trever clients, giving European financial institutions a single-platform solution for prime brokerage in digital assets.
