Japanese Investors Trim Foreign Bond Outflows, Turn Net Sellers of Overseas Stocks
Weekly flow data show Japanese investors sold a smaller amount of foreign bonds and swung to net selling of foreign stocks in the week to Oct. 10.
Japanese investors sold ¥339.7 billion of foreign bonds in the week to Oct. 10, a smaller outflow than the prior week's ¥347.6 billion.
They also sold ¥760.6 billion of foreign stocks, reversing the previous week's ¥1,328.6 billion net purchase.
The figures point to reduced bond selling but a clear shift toward equity selling by Japanese accounts.
