Japan PM: Russia visit has hardened anti-Russian sentiment
Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi said Japan-Russia ties are difficult following Russia's invasion of Ukraine, and that a recent visit has further hardened anti-Russian sentiment and complicated medium-to-long-term restoration.
Japan’s Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi said relations with Russia are in a difficult situation after Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
According to Takaichi, Japan has made every possible effort, but the visit has further hardened anti-Russian sentiment within Japan and made restoration of relations over the medium to long term more difficult.
She added that Japan wants Russia to seriously recognise the gravity of this.
