Japan FSA Caps Trading Platform Stock Volume at 10%, Plans Rule Review
Japan's Financial Services Agency has imposed a 10% limit on the share of total Japanese stock trading value a single platform can handle, and will form an external expert study group this fiscal year to consider raising the cap.
Japan’s Financial Services Agency (FSA) has set a ceiling of 10% on the portion of overall Japanese stock trading value that any single trading platform is permitted to process. The measure aims to prevent excessive concentration and systemic risk.
The regulator plans to establish a study group of outside experts as early as this fiscal year. The group will examine potential rule changes, including the possibility of raising the 10% limit.
The initiative was reported by Nikkei.
