J. Safra Sarasin Takes Full Control of Saxo Bank with Purchase of Kim Fournais' Remaining Stake

J. Safra Sarasin has bought Kim Fournais' remaining stake in Saxo Bank, taking full control of the online trading and investment firm.

J. Safra Sarasin has taken full control of Saxo Bank by purchasing the remaining stake held by Kim Fournais. The acquisition makes the J. Safra Sarasin group the sole owner of the online trading platform, ending Fournais' role as a shareholder in the company.

The deal completes the ownership transition that began with J. Safra Sarasin's earlier involvement in Saxo Bank. With the purchase of the residual shares, J. Safra Sarasin now has full ownership and full control of the firm. Fournais had remained a shareholder after J. Safra Sarasin acquired its initial position, and that direct interest has now been transferred in full.

Following the transaction, Saxo Bank's ownership structure has been consolidated under a single shareholder. As the only owner, J. Safra Sarasin will be able to exercise all shareholder rights and set Saxo Bank's strategic direction without coordination with other equity holders. The move also removes the minority stake that had remained in Fournais' hands.

The purchase of the remaining stake leaves Saxo Bank wholly owned by J. Safra Sarasin. The broker now sits fully inside the J. Safra Sarasin group's trading operations, and following the transfer, J. Safra Sarasin will act as Saxo Bank's sole shareholder.

The ownership change marks a significant step in Saxo Bank's corporate history. Full control now lies with J. Safra Sarasin, and Fournais' remaining shareholding has been eliminated. The transaction is the latest development in Saxo Bank's ownership structure and positions J. Safra Sarasin as the parent company moving forward.
