J.P. Morgan Unveils New Features, Fixed Income Experience for Retail Investors

J.P. Morgan Self-Directed Investing rolled out a revamped fixed income experience with yield comparison, customizable screeners and a streamlined trade ticket for retail investors.

J.P. Morgan has introduced a new fixed income experience for users of its Self-Directed Investing platform, accessible through the Chase mobile app and Chase.com. The update, announced June 20, 2025, is designed to make it easier for retail investors to research and trade corporate bonds, Treasuries, municipal bonds and brokered CDs.

The new tools include a yield comparison table that allows investors to compare yields across fixed income products and filter by preferred timeframes. Customizable screeners let users narrow down Treasury, corporate bond, municipal bond and brokered CD offerings with a few clicks, and saved screeners can be reused later. A streamlined trade ticket reduces the number of steps needed to place a trade and provides a quick view of yields, along with contextual guides for those new to fixed income.

Paul Vienick, Head of Online Investing at J.P. Morgan Wealth Management, said fixed income plays a key role in a diversified portfolio by balancing stock market volatility and providing consistent income. He noted that the new experience is designed to feel familiar to stock investors and stands out by being available on both desktop and the Chase mobile app.

The rollout is part of J.P. Morgan's broader push to upgrade its Self-Directed Investing offering. Over the past year, the firm has added fractional shares for more than 3,000 stocks and ETFs, tools for comparing portfolio performance against major indices, investing ideas, trust accounts, margin trading, and access to leveraged, inverse and volatility ETFs. Clients exploring retirement account rollovers can also connect with the firm's retirement desk for specialist support.

Andrea Finan, Head of J.P. Morgan Self-Directed Investing, said the new features are part of an ongoing effort to improve the client experience and hinted at further updates ahead.

The platform was ranked No. 1 in J.D. Power's Wealth Management Digital Experience Study for both Self-Directed and Full-Service investors, and it was named Best-in-Class for Retirement Accounts and Bank Brokerages by StockBrokers.com.

J.P. Morgan Wealth Management, the U.S. wealth management business of JPMorgan Chase & Co., reports roughly 5,800 advisors and about $1 trillion in assets under supervision. JPMorgan Chase & Co. has assets of $4.4 trillion and operates nearly 5,000 Chase branches in the U.S. New customers who open and fund an eligible Self-Directed Investing account can earn up to $700 in the current promotion.
