J.P. Morgan Self-Directed Investing named Best Online Brokerage by REAL SIMPLE

J.P. Morgan Self-Directed Investing has been named Best Online Brokerage in Real Simple's 2025 Smart Money Awards, the company announced. The recognition highlights the platform's commission-free trading across stocks, ETFs, mutual funds and Treasuries, all available through the Chase Mobile app and Chase.com.

The award follows a string of recent product enhancements. J.P. Morgan Self-Directed Investing now offers fractional share trading across more than 3,000 stocks and ETFs, a redesigned fixed income experience with comparison tables and customizable filters, and expanded investment choices including margin trading, as well as leveraged, inverse and volatility ETFs. Clients also gained performance and exploration tools for benchmarking portfolios against major indices and discovering new ideas.

The award adds to a growing list of honors for the retail investing platform. It previously ranked first in J.D. Power's Wealth Management Digital Experience Study for both Self-Directed and Full-Service investors, and was named Best-in-Class for Bank Brokerages and Retirement Accounts by StockBrokers.com.

Real Simple's Smart Money Awards, published August 12, 2025, were selected by an independent panel of judges evaluating nominations on innovation and relevance to readers. J.P. Morgan noted that a fee was paid to the publisher for licensing use of materials after the awards were announced.

J.P. Morgan Self-Directed Investing lets customers open accounts in a few steps, with new customers eligible to earn up to $700 when they fund an eligible account with qualifying new money. J.P. Morgan Wealth Management, a business of JPMorgan Chase & Co., reports roughly $1 trillion in assets under supervision and about 5,900 advisors, with JPMorgan Chase holding total assets of $4.6 trillion.
