Israel Raises Security Concerns Over Hamas Disarmament Deal

Israel has shared serious security concerns with the White House regarding a proposed disarmament deal with Hamas. Netanyahu's spokesperson says intelligence indicates Hamas remains committed to rebuilding its military, not disarming.

Israel has conveyed "serious security concerns" to the White House over a proposed disarmament agreement with Hamas, according to a spokesperson for Prime Minister Netanyahu.

Doron Spielman stated that Israel's intelligence assessment is that Hamas remains dedicated to rebuilding its military capabilities rather than genuinely disarming. The concerns underscore the fragility of ceasefire talks and the potential for renewed conflict.

The Israeli military, which currently controls more than 60% of the Gaza Strip, will not withdraw from the territory before Hamas disarms, Spielman added. The stance sets a firm precondition for any lasting truce.
