Iran Sets Conditions for Reopening Strait of Hormuz

IRGC spokesperson says the strategic waterway will only reopen if the US fully accepts Iran's conditions, separate from Tehran-Oman negotiations.

According to IRGC spokesperson Hossein Mohebi, the Strait of Hormuz will remain closed until the United States accepts Iran's conditions in full. He made the remarks on Saturday, distinguishing the issue from ongoing negotiations between Tehran and Oman.

The Strait of Hormuz is a critical chokepoint for global oil shipments, and any prolonged disruption could significantly affect energy prices and global trade flows. The IRGC has not publicly detailed the specific conditions.
