Iran’s top security official, Mohammad Baqer Zolqadr, warned that the Strait of Hormuz will stay partially blocked until the U.S. “corrects its behavior.” The secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council made the remarks, underscoring Tehran’s firm stance on the strategic waterway.

Among the conditions set by Iran are:

  • An end to U.S. military action
  • Withdrawal of U.S. forces from the region
  • Sanctions relief
  • Compensation for war damages
  • Release of frozen Iranian assets
