Iran’s Pezeshkian Government Under Fire for Lacking Wartime Posture

An Iranian newspaper with ties to Supreme Leader Khamenei has sharply criticized the Pezeshkian administration for failing to adopt a wartime economic stance more than 150 days into the conflict.

A newspaper whose editor-in-chief is appointed directly by Iran’s Supreme Leader has publicly rebuked the government of President Masoud Pezeshkian. The outlet argued that the economy and public livelihoods are inseparable from hybrid warfare, and that a wartime posture is still absent despite over 150 days of conflict.

The criticism underscores growing domestic pressure on the administration to mobilize resources and restructure economic priorities in response to the protracted war. Such calls from institutions close to the Supreme Leader often signal elite dissatisfaction and can foreshadow policy shifts.

No immediate response from the Pezeshkian government was reported.
