Interactive Brokers updates IBKR Desktop platform, enhances Layout Library and Bond Quote Details

Interactive Brokers' IBKR Desktop 3.4 beta adds a streamlined Layout Library, customizable watchlist and column ordering, and richer bond quote details.

Electronic trading major Interactive Brokers has released version 3.4 (beta) of IBKR Desktop, introducing new layout tools and expanded bond information. The update focuses on giving users more control over how their trading workspace is organized.

The updated Layout Library is designed to streamline the process of creating, managing, and applying both custom and predefined layouts. Users can select a layout to add it to their library or use the Open in New Window icon to open it in a separate window.

Watchlist rows can now be reordered and saved. To rearrange items, users click the dotted icon to the left of a product, drag the row to the desired position, and then click the save icon in the top right corner. The saved order is retained for future sessions.

Column customization has also been extended. On the Portfolio, Watchlist, Orders, and Trades pages, users can drag and drop columns into a preferred order. The process involves hovering over the column, clicking and holding the dotted icon until the cursor changes to an open hand, and then dragging the column into place. These layout changes are saved automatically for future sessions.

Bond Quote Details in IBKR Desktop now includes a Description section that provides key bond metadata, as well as a Ratings section showing credit ratings and third-party pricing data. The Full Description link has also been enhanced to give quicker and more convenient access to detailed bond information.

The beta update is part of Interactive Brokers' ongoing development cycle for IBKR Desktop, following a series of recent feature releases for the platform.
