Interactive Brokers expands crypto services with Ethereum staking via Zerohash

Interactive Brokers now offers Ethereum staking to eligible clients via the Client Portal, with infrastructure from Zerohash. Rewards are paid in staked ETH and can compound.
Interactive Brokers has widened its cryptocurrency offering to include staking for eligible clients, taking the brokerage beyond trading and transfers into yield-generating services. At launch, staking is limited to Ethereum and can be accessed through the broker's Client Portal, with the underlying infrastructure supplied by crypto firm Zerohash.
Rewards are credited as additional staked ETH rather than in cash, and they continue to compound for as long as the position stays staked.
Earnings on assets clients already hold
CEO Milan Galik framed the launch as an extension of the broker's existing yield products, drawing a comparison with the Stock Yield Enhancement Program, which lets clients earn extra income on shares they already own. He said the aim is to give clients more ways to earn from the assets they hold.
Interactive Brokers' move into digital assets dates back to 2021, when it first rolled out crypto trading. The company broadened that offering in early 2025, and in January introduced round-the-clock account funding in USDC to support 24/7 trading.
The staking launch lands as traditional brokerages step up their interest in digital asset services. Morgan Stanley has reportedly sought a national trust bank charter that would let it custody digital assets and provide staking and trading services to investment clients, a sign that regulated custodial and yield products are becoming a competitive battleground among mainstream firms.
