Hyperliquid Unveils HIP-4 Outcome Trading Plans

Hyperliquid introduces HIP-4, a proposal for fully collateralized outcome contracts on its HyperCore engine, sending its HYPE token 14% higher despite broader market declines.

Hyperliquid, the decentralized exchange behind the HYPE token, announced Monday a new product initiative called HIP‑4 that introduces outcome‑based trading to its platform. The proposal triggered a 14% rally in HYPE, pushing the token to around $33.22, even as major cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum posted steep losses.

The HIP‑4 proposal describes fully collateralized contracts — dubbed "outcomes" — that settle within a predefined range without relying on leverage or liquidations. According to the team, these contracts are designed as a general‑purpose building block for prediction markets, options‑like instruments, and other non‑linear payoff structures. The development is being tested on Hyperliquid’s testnet, with standardized canonical markets expected after finalization.

Following the announcement, HYPE held firmly above the $30 level and has surged roughly 48% over the past week. In contrast, Bitcoin fell about 10%, Ethereum dropped 18%, and Binance Coin slid 11% during the same period, underscoring the divergence in performance.

Market researcher DeFi Ignas highlighted the composability of outcome contracts, noting that they could be combined with perpetual futures to create more efficient hedging strategies — something not currently possible on prediction platforms like Polymarket or Kalshi. Ignas also pointed to permissionless market creation as a potential differentiator for Hyperliquid.

From a technical perspective, HYPE faces resistance near $34, which has capped gains on multiple occasions. The $28 level served as major support over the weekend. Whether HYPE can break above $34 will likely determine if the rally extends or reverses.
