Houthis Claim Missile Attack on Saudi Oil Tanker in Gulf of Aden

Yemen's Houthi forces say they targeted the Saudi oil tanker 'Daisy' with a ballistic missile in the Gulf of Aden, warning they will block further Saudi tanker movements.

A spokesperson for Yemen's Houthi armed forces announced on X that they successfully struck the Saudi oil tanker 'Daisy' in the Gulf of Aden using a ballistic missile. The statement added that Houthi forces are meticulously monitoring all movements of Saudi oil tankers and will not allow any ship to pass.

The attack raises fresh concerns over the safety of key oil shipping lanes in the region. The Gulf of Aden is a critical maritime corridor for crude and refined product flows, and any prolonged disruption could tighten global supply expectations.

This development follows a series of Houthi strikes on commercial vessels in the Red Sea and surrounding waters, expanding their campaign beyond Israeli-linked ships. No immediate comment was available from Saudi authorities or the tanker's operator.
