Hamas Signals Willingness to Disarm Under Trump's Ceasefire Plan

Hamas has indicated it would begin disarming according to a 20-point ceasefire plan proposed by Trump. The plan includes Israeli withdrawal and a new Palestinian government, though Israel is unlikely to pull back before October elections.

Hamas has reportedly expressed readiness to start disarming as part of a 20-point ceasefire plan presented by former President Trump. The proposal calls for the group to hand over weapons and dismantle its tunnel network.

In return, the plan includes an Israeli military withdrawal, the formation of a technocratic Palestinian government, and the deployment of an international security force.

However, Israel is seen as unlikely to carry out a significant pullback of forces ahead of its October elections, casting doubt on the initiative's near-term implementation.
