Gold slips toward $4,400 as Iran-US tensions offset soft US inflation

Gold traded near $4,400 in early Asian hours Thursday, easing as US-Iran tensions countered support from tame US inflation.

XAUUSD

Gold came under modest pressure in early Asian trading on Thursday, slipping toward the $4,400 mark.

The decline in XAU/USD was attributed to escalating geopolitical tensions between the United States and Iran. That risk backdrop countered potential support from tame US inflation, which would ordinarily be constructive for the precious metal.

As a result, gold was trading near $4,400, caught between a hostile geopolitical tone and an inflation environment that offered little impulse for higher prices. The source noted the pullback continued during the early Asian session, with the metal hovering around the $4,400 level.
