The International Labour Organization (ILO) reported that the global youth jobless rate reached 12.4% in 2025, up from 12.3% in 2023. The figure translates to roughly 67 million young people aged 15 to 24 being unemployed.

The modest increase coincides with growing anxiety over artificial intelligence displacing entry-level roles, which are critical for youth labor market entry. The ILO's data underscores ongoing challenges for a generation facing an uncertain employment landscape.
