Global Passive Equity Fund Inflows Hit Record $250B in Four Weeks

Passive equity funds attracted a record $250bn over the past four weeks, while active funds lost $50bn, pushing combined flows to an all-time high of $200bn.

The latest flow data shows a stark divergence between passive and active strategies. Passive equity funds across developed and emerging markets saw a record $250 billion in inflows over the last four weeks, while active funds suffered $50 billion in outflows.

This pushed the combined 4-week net inflow to $200 billion, an all-time high that eclipses the prior peak of $165 billion set in early 2021. Back then, both passive and active funds were drawing money.

The surge extends a trend where passive inflows have more than quadrupled since mid-2025, underscoring the enduring popularity of index-tracking products.
