Global Equity Breadth Surges as MSCI ACWI Hits Record High
The number of countries in the MSCI ACWI making new 52-week highs reached 28, the most since February, quadrupling since April. No countries are at new lows, underscoring strong global momentum.
The MSCI All Country World Index (ACWI) has climbed to a fresh all-time high, propelled by a rapid expansion in country-level participation. The number of index constituents making new 52-week highs has jumped to 28, the highest reading since February.
This measure of breadth has more than quadrupled from its April levels, coinciding with a 20% surge in the MSCI ACWI over the same stretch. The index has also held above its 80-week moving average for 16 straight months, signaling persistent upward trend strength.
Impressively, none of the 70 countries tracked are registering new 52-week lows, a stark contrast to the 47 countries making new highs back in January—the highest on record. This suggests the current rally still has significant breadth left to fill.
The data underscores a broad-based advance in global equities, with momentum showing no signs of deterioration.
