Former Equiti Compliance Chief Charbel Raffoul Becomes GTCFX CEO

GTCFX has appointed Charbel Raffoul, a near two-decade financial services veteran who spent almost nine years at Equiti, as its new Chief Executive Officer.

GTCFX has appointed Charbel Raffoul as its new Chief Executive Officer, the retail forex and CFD broker announced on Monday, 19 October 2026. Raffoul joins with close to two decades of experience across financial services, building his career largely in compliance, financial crime prevention and management roles.

A compliance-heavy CV

Raffoul's most recent position was Head of Compliance at ATFX MENA, where he served for one year. Before that he spent almost nine years at Equiti, holding the titles of Chief Compliance Officer and Financial Crime Lead across a tenure of eight years and eleven months. Earlier in his career he was a Director at ADS Securities for two years and three months, and prior to that he headed compliance at Alpari ME for three years and ten months.

His appointment continues a run of senior hires at GTCFX. The broker recently named Abdulrahman Ahmed Al Ali as General Manager; Al Ali previously worked in the enforcement department of the UAE's Securities and Commodities Authority, which has since been renamed the Capital Market Authority. In May 2025, GTCFX appointed Mikhail S. as Chief Commercial Officer following more than 13 years at Alpari.

The firm has also been expanding its physical footprint. It opened an office in Thailand and appointed Mei Nongbua as Country Manager to oversee local operations.

On the dispute-resolution side, GTCFX became a member of the Financial Commission in January 2025. The independent, non-governmental body handles external resolution of complaints between forex and CFD brokers and their clients, reviewing cases and issuing decisions or compensation awards under its rules. Its Compensation Fund provides up to €20,000 per eligible client claim where a member fails to honour a compensation award, though it does not cover ordinary trading losses or broker insolvency.

The leadership changes come as GTCFX continues to build out both its executive team and its regional presence, with compliance and regulatory experience figuring prominently in its recent appointments.
