First Price Oracle for Ripio's wFIAT Tokens
wFiat, the on-chain infrastructure arm of Ripio, connects virtual accounts, local stablecoins and payments through one API across eight Latin American markets, with a World App ramp among early integrations.
wFiat, the on-chain fintech infrastructure platform built by Ripio, is offering a single-API solution that lets wallets, exchanges and payment apps add crypto-fiat services across Latin America. The stack combines virtual local bank accounts, 1:1 stablecoins and payment functions, and the company says early adoption is already visible in metrics such as assets under management quadrupling since launch.
The offering
wFiat says its API provides direct access to local banking networks through secure connections with each country's financial system. Customers can move between digital assets and local currencies, use in/out ramps, make P2P transfers and settle payments via QR codes. Local stablecoins are issued at 1:1 parity with the corresponding fiat currency, with deep liquidity in USDT/USDC pairs and support for collateralized lending, staking and other DeFi functions.
The company operates across Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Peru, Mexico, Uruguay and the US. It cites 12 years of activity in the region, more than 28 million users reached in B2C and B2B2C channels, and over 2,500 corporate and institutional clients. The core infrastructure is built and operated by Ripio, and wFiat says it holds SOC 1 and SOC 2 Type II certification.
Early traction
wFiat highlights a Q3 2025 integration with Rampas that lets World App users exchange WLD tokens into local currencies at competitive rates. It also points to wFiat local stablecoins on-chain in Argentina, Colombia, Mexico, Chile and Peru, QR-based purchasing at millions of merchants, and yield generation on user holdings. Since launch, wFiat says it has seen a 4x increase in assets under management, roughly 12,000 active weekly addresses, $1.47 million in Uniswap v4 volume, and 50% of users depositing into yield.
Compliance and wBRL
On the regulatory side, wFiat lists a VASP registration with Argentina's CNV, a PSP authorization from the Central Bank of Argentina and UIF compliance; Mexican PSAV authorization with SAT and a money transmitter license from CNBV; Colombian VASP registration with UIAF; and a Florida money transmitter license plus FinCEN MSB registration in the US. In Brazil and Chile, it says it complies with local rules while waiting on specific registrations.
wFiat also announced the first certification of its wBRL guarantees, verified by local public accountants. As of March 31, 2026, the issuer reported 719,448 wBRL tokens in circulation, backed by R$809,597.28 held in a Brazilian bank account. Issuance and burn reports are available on-chain on Ethereum, World Chain, Base, Gnosis, Polygon and BNB Smart Chain.
