The euro fell 0.5% to $1.1312, its weakest level since May 2025, as expectations for further Federal Reserve rate hikes and rising U.S. Treasury yields boosted the dollar. The euro is down 2.6% against the dollar in September.
The dollar spot index has gained about 2% this month, while the 30-year Treasury yield reached its highest level since 2002. Options markets indicate increased euro downside risk.
Month-end flows could still support a rebound toward $1.14.
