Ethereum Glamsterdam upgrade may break wallets and gas fee tools

Ethereum Foundation has warned that wallets, indexers, and fee-estimation tools may malfunction after the upcoming Glamsterdam upgrade because it alters the blockchain's gas model.

Developers are being asked to validate their systems on the public Plataberget testnet. The organization specifically flagged tools with a hardcoded maximum gas limit, saying they will stop working and require updates.

Glamsterdam activation on the Plataberget testnet is scheduled for August 20.
