Equiti Opens Bangalore Technology Hub To Accelerate AI And Global Product Development

Equiti Group has launched a new technology hub in Bangalore, India, to advance its AI, data engineering, and cybersecurity capabilities. The center will support product development for retail, professional, and institutional clients globally.

Equiti Group, the UAE-headquartered fintech firm, has opened a new technology hub in Bangalore, India, as part of its strategy to accelerate artificial intelligence and product development across its global operations. The facility marks the company's expansion into one of the world's largest technology talent pools.

The Bangalore hub will focus on AI, data engineering, cybersecurity, cloud infrastructure, and software development. According to Equiti, the center is designed to be a key component of its global technology roadmap, supporting innovation for retail, professional, and institutional clients worldwide. Rather than serving as a back-office operation, the hub will function as an engineering centre that builds scalable fintech solutions for the broader Equiti ecosystem.

Industry Trend and Talent Competition

The move reflects a wider industry trend as financial institutions increasingly establish engineering centres in India to lower costs and recruit specialists in AI and cloud technologies. Competition for AI talent has intensified, with generative AI, machine learning, and cloud-native infrastructure becoming major investment priorities across the brokerage industry. Bangalore has emerged as a prime location, offering a strong pipeline of software engineers and AI expertise.

Sartaj Singh, Chief Technology Officer at Equiti Group, noted that Bangalore played an important role in his own career development. "Through this hub, we want to create meaningful opportunities for engineers, data scientists and technology leaders who will help shape the future of financial services," he said.

Akshit Jain, Managing Director, India and Group Head of Development, Client Platforms at Equiti, added that the hub aims to build a high-performing engineering organisation capable of solving complex global challenges while creating long-term career opportunities in India. He emphasized the hub's role in supporting innovation across client platforms, AI, data, cybersecurity, and cloud technologies.

Strengthening UAE-India Tech Corridor

Equiti said the expansion reinforces its technology relationship between the United Arab Emirates and India. The company expects the new centre to accelerate product delivery while enhancing its internal capabilities in cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, and AI.

The announcement follows a series of technology investments as Equiti evolves beyond its brokerage business into a broader financial technology group. Today, the firm operates across trading technology, payments, digital assets, asset management, and physical commodities through regulated entities in the UK, UAE, Cyprus, and other international markets.

The launch highlights a strategic shift in the brokerage industry: firms are increasingly competing for engineers capable of building AI-driven infrastructure that will shape the future of financial services, rather than solely focusing on trader acquisition or product range expansion.
