Elastic Chain: Ripio's LaChain Joins ZKsync Interoperability Network

Ripio's LaChain has joined the Elastic Chain network introduced with ZKsync 3.0, gaining native cross-chain interoperability, lower costs and Ethereum-backed security.

Ripio's LaChain has joined the Elastic Chain, the interoperability network introduced with ZKsync 3.0, according to an announcement from the Latin American blockchain project. The integration is designed to give users and developers in the Ripio ecosystem access to a unified, low-friction experience across multiple chains.

The move comes as blockchain fragmentation becomes an increasingly pressing issue. As rollup-based scaling solutions have multiplied, users often face a complex maze of bridges, long processing times and high fees when moving assets between networks. Bridges have also become prime targets for attackers, with more than $2 billion lost to bridge hacks, the announcement notes.

Elastic Chain is described as a network of ZK Chains — including rollups, validiums and volitions — interconnected at the protocol level and secured cryptographically with zero-knowledge proofs. Transactions are verified and executed on Ethereum, removing the need to trust third parties or rely on assumptions of an honest majority. The architecture is intended to allow unlimited expansion without sacrificing decentralization or security.

Among the main benefits highlighted for users are the ability to use a single address across all chains within Elastic Chain, fast cross-chain transactions requiring only one signature, and transaction costs comparable to those of a single ZK Chain. The network also promises unlimited scalability without affecting cost or efficiency.

LaChain, built by Ripio for the LATAM region, says joining Elastic Chain allows its ecosystem to tap into a high-performance blockchain with reduced fees and instant transactions, without depending on traditional bridges. The project frames the integration as a step toward broader Web3 growth in Latin America and beyond, positioning Elastic Chain as the next stage in blockchain scalability.
