Ecopetrol’s interim CEO Juan Carlos Hurtado announced the timeline for two regasification terminals. The Pacific terminal is set to start operations in October–November of this year, while the Caribbean facility will be ready by early 2027.
The terminals aim to soften the impact of El Niño weather conditions on refining activities. Hurtado made the remarks while noting that stronger oil market prices contributed to higher second-quarter results.
