DriveWealth Security Incident Exposes Revolut, Stake and Hatch Customer Data

A security incident at DriveWealth exposed customer data linked to Revolut, Stake and Hatch, while CMC Markets added ChatGPT and BlackBull pushed its IPO back to 2027.

A security incident at DriveWealth exposed customer data belonging to users of Revolut, Stake and Hatch, putting the brokerage infrastructure provider at the centre of the week's broker news. The three platforms are among the names affected by the exposure, which dominated an otherwise busy run of company, product and regulatory developments across online trading.

The same news cycle brought a management takeover at LCG, a move by CMC Markets to add ChatGPT capabilities, and a first-half loss at iFOREX. On the regulatory side, Australia's ASIC set out new rules covering trading algorithms, a change that will apply to how brokers deploy and supervise automated execution.

Listings, retail expansion and AI

BlackBull's planned initial public offering has been pushed back, with the listing now expected in 2027. Equiti opened a second physical storefront in the United Arab Emirates, extending its retail presence in the region, while eToro is preparing to migrate clients onto a new app built around artificial intelligence.

Separately, industry projections suggest financial contracts could account for close to half of prediction-market volume by 2035, a shift that would broaden those venues beyond event-based betting into products that overlap more directly with traditional derivatives.

Technology and compliance were also in focus in a studio interview with Amir Amidian, Global Head of Research at FISG - Interstellar Group. Amidian discussed how the group approaches regulation across multiple jurisdictions, how its proprietary Flux One execution technology is designed to improve execution speed, and why trader education remains a priority. He also pointed to AI as a tool that could help traders identify and learn from past mistakes, alongside reliability, innovation and trust as pillars of the group's strategy. Interstellar signalled plans for further international expansion.

The mixed agenda leaves the operating backdrop for brokers defined by two pressures at once: tightening expectations around data security and algorithmic oversight, and a spending race on AI-driven platforms and execution tooling.
