Darwinex Changes How It Pays Interest to DARWIN Investors

Darwinex will credit interest daily on DARWIN equity from June 29, 2026, subject to a 19% Spanish IRPF withholding, with details in monthly reports.

Darwinex has informed clients that starting June 29, 2026, interest generated on account liquidity will be paid daily directly on the equity invested in DARWINs. An additional payment for interest accrued up to June 27 will be made on that date.

The interest rate is not fixed; it varies periodically based on conditions offered by Darwinex’s depository banks. The platform emphasized that this is not a savings account or a fixed-rate product, and it does not replace the performance of DARWIN strategies.

Tax Treatment

Under Spanish tax regulations, a 19% withholding tax (IRPF) will be applied to these interest payments. Investors will see the net amount credited, and the gross interest and withholding details will appear in downloadable monthly and annual account reports. This simplifies tax tracking for Spanish residents but should not be confused with DARWIN returns.

Product Context

DARWINs are alternative investment products that replicate trading strategies with built-in risk management. Minimum investment is 200 units of the wallet base currency (25 if already invested in that DARWIN). Fees include a 1.2% annual management fee and a 20% performance fee under a high-water mark system. CFD trading, which underlies some strategies, carries high risk; the platform notes that a significant percentage of retail accounts lose money on CFDs.

Regulatory Differences

Darwinex operates through multiple entities: Tradeslide Trading Tech Ltd (UK), Sapiens Markets EU Sociedad de Valores S.A. (Spain, regulated by CNMV), and Tradeslide Global Ltd (Seychelles, regulated by FSA). The EU entity provides FOGAIN protection up to €100,000 per person, while the Seychelles entity offers no such compensation scheme. Investors should verify which entity holds their account and understand the associated protections.
