Crypto Spot Trading Volumes Could Hit November 2023 Lows in July, K33 Warns
K33 analysts forecast that July 2026 spot crypto trading activity may fall to its lowest since November 2023, with average daily volumes at $2.2 billion and derivatives open interest near multi-year lows.
Spot trading volumes in the cryptocurrency market are on track to reach their weakest level since November 2023 this July, according to research firm K33. Over the past 30 days, the average daily spot volume was $2.2 billion.
Derivatives markets also show signs of fatigue. Open interest on CME bitcoin futures remains close to multi-year lows, while perpetual futures open interest holds around 300,000 BTC.
"This picture accurately reflects the typical July slowdown, which historically is the weakest period of the year for the crypto market in terms of BTC trading volumes," K33 analysts noted.
