Crypto derivatives trading volume shrank by 15.7% in the first half of the year, totaling $35.08 trillion, according to CoinGlass. The top 10 exchanges captured 81.2% of total turnover, while the top five controlled 61.2%.
Open interest declined at a slower pace than trading activity. Over the same period, liquidations reached $73.35 billion, with long positions accounting for 62.2% of forced closures.
Analysts cautioned that the buildup of positions amid weak liquidity could make the market more vulnerable to price shocks.
