Coins.ph Donates PHP 3 Million for Mindanao Earthquake Relief

Coins.ph has donated ₱3 million to Angat Pinas for relief operations following the magnitude 7.8 earthquake that struck Mindanao, affecting over 1.4 million residents.

Coins.ph, a Philippine cryptocurrency exchange and fintech firm, has donated ₱3 million (about $53,000) to the non-profit organisation Angat Pinas to support emergency relief for communities hit by the magnitude 7.8 earthquake that struck southern Mindanao on 17 November.

The donation will be used to procure and distribute food packages and clean drinking water to displaced families in the hardest-hit areas, including General Santos City, Maasim, Alabel, and the wider Sarangani province. The earthquake severely impacted over 1.4 million residents, with Intensity 7 to 8 shaking recorded in some zones.

In addition to human aid, the initiative also dedicates resources to care for displaced animals, such as cats and dogs, which are often overlooked during large-scale disasters.

“In the wake of the recent devastating earthquake, our priority at Coins.ph has been simply to empower the responders who are delivering hope directly to Mindanao,” said Wei Zhou, Chief Executive Officer of Coins.ph. “This support is vital because these ongoing relief operations provide immediate, practical aid directly to displaced families where it is needed most.”

Raffy Magno, Executive Director of Angat Pinas, said: “In times of disaster, every act of solidarity matters. We are grateful to Coins.ph for standing with earthquake-affected communities in Mindanao and helping ensure that timely assistance reaches areas that need it most.”

The relief distribution is being carried out immediately in coordination with local field responders in General Santos City and surrounding municipalities. Coins.ph is encouraging its users to also contribute directly to Angat Pinas’s official donation channels.
