Coinbase Brings Global Crypto Derivatives to US Market

Coinbase unveiled a wave of product updates, including UK derivatives access, an Abu Dhabi tokenization hub, US stock trading for UK clients, and perpetuals for Australian wholesale customers.
Coinbase has outlined a broad set of product updates across regions, covering derivatives, tokenization, payments and stock trading. On Aug. 11, 2026, the company said it is launching Futures, Perpetuals and Options for professional investors in the UK, with access rolling out progressively over the coming months. Eligible investors can trade more than 170 contracts across crypto, commodities, equities and FX around the clock, with leverage up to 50x.
Coinbase also announced that it has received Financial Services Permission from the Financial Services Regulatory Authority to establish its international tokenization hub in Abu Dhabi Global Market. The exchange called the approval the most significant step so far toward building infrastructure for a more open, accessible global financial system.
In the UK, Coinbase is introducing 24/5 trading in nearly 4,000 US equities, making it the first crypto-native trading app to offer US stocks in that market. Coinbase Australia, meanwhile, is launching perpetuals for eligible wholesale customers, adding locally licensed perpetual trading for crypto, equity and commodity assets beyond its existing spot and stablecoin products.
The Coinbase Business payments suite is also being upgraded. Businesses can now accept payments from AI agents through the same Checkout flow, and Coinbase is adding reusable payment links, flexible pricing, a product catalog, integrated buyer information collection and USDT support across the full payments suite.
In a separate consumer protection note, Coinbase said AI has changed how software vulnerabilities are discovered, but human judgment remains essential for the most complex, highest-impact bugs.
