The US House of Representatives spent a total of $113,740 on AI services from April 2025 through March 2026, with OpenAI's ChatGPT claiming $100,580 — roughly 88% of the budget. Anthropic's Claude placed a distant second at $13,160.
At least 71 congressional offices, about one in six, paid for ChatGPT subscriptions. Staffers reportedly used the tool for legislative analysis, drafting memos, and handling constituent correspondence.
