Bybit launches 24/7 options on stock perpetuals, starting with SpaceX and Nvidia

Bybit will start listing round-the-clock options on stock perpetuals on Sept. 17, beginning with SpaceX and Nvidia contracts settled in USDT and traded in fractional lots.

Bybit is preparing to list options contracts tied to stock perpetuals, a product the crypto exchange says is the first of its kind. Trading is scheduled to begin on Sept. 17 at 8 p.m. UTC, with SpaceX (SPCX) and Nvidia (NVDA) as the first two underlyings.

The contracts will be available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, in fractional lot sizes and settled in USDT, and they will be fully integrated into Bybit's Unified Trading Account. The exchange said portfolio margin will be supported, along with strategies such as buying and selling options, spreads, straddles and covered calls. Bybit intends to add new expiries on a regular basis and to widen the lineup to further underlyings, naming Tesla (TSLA), QQQ, SOXL and Micron (MU) as candidates.

According to Bybit, the products are aimed at giving users exposure to U.S. equity options without being confined to traditional market hours or the standard 100-share contract minimum.

A broader tokenized-equity push

The launch extends a trend that has been building across crypto and brokerage platforms, where tokenized equities are increasingly used as collateral and as the basis for more complex derivatives. In July, Ondo said users could post tokenized stocks as collateral to trade perpetuals on equities, commodities and other assets, moving tokenized shares beyond simple buy-and-hold positions. Coinbase, Kraken, Robinhood and other venues have also been working toward round-the-clock equity trading.

Demand for equity-linked perpetuals has grown sharply. Tokenized-equity perp volume rose from $85 billion in January to roughly $470 billion in June, and SpaceX was the most-traded equity perp that month with more than $66 billion in volume, according to previous reporting by The Block. The shift is visible onchain as well: equity-focused HIP-3 markets grew from about 2% of Hyperliquid's perpetual volume at the start of the year to around 50%, with Nvidia, Tesla and Nasdaq-100 contracts among the most active products.
